Training: Amphibian Egg Mass Surveys

  • Tualatin Hills Nature Park 15655 Southwest Millikan Way Beaverton, OR, 97006 United States (map)

This is one of three January trainings which will prepare volunteers to count frog and salamander egg masses in parks and natural areas.  Monitoring native amphibian species helps measure overall wetland health and the extent to which regional enhancement efforts are helping wildlife thrive.

After completing one training, volunteers typically contribute a total 12-25 volunteer hours by completing four surveys over the course of three months (late January through March). Sponsored by Clean Water Services, Metro, Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District, Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge and The Wetlands Conservancy. More information from Clean Water Services; background info on the Tree for All blog, On The Ground
