Convening to Promote Watershed Health

The Tualatin River Watershed Council, a key Tree for All partner, brings together public, private and nonprofit interests in the Tualatin River Basin to address complex issues and promote and improve watershed health.

In its own words, TRWC “links land, water and people.” The Council leverages local knowledge and relationships to align stakeholders and amplify the impact of efforts to protect the Tualatin River Watershed.

A nonprofit organization founded in 1996, TRWC is comprised of 23 stakeholder representatives from agriculture, forestry, business, local government, education, environmental and neighborhood organizations. At monthly meetings, the Council coordinates planning, development and implementation of projects that maintain and restore the watershed’s biological and physical processes.

The partners involved in Tree for All have such a deep commitment to protecting and restoring the waterways of the Tualatin watershed.  For most of us this isn’t just a nine to five job. It is a pleasure to find important and lasting ways to collaborate.
— Scott McEwen, Tualatin River Watershed Council

TRWC sponsors tours of ecological sites throughout the basin, presents community forums, trains community volunteers, conducts restoration projects and acts as a clearinghouse for watershed information.

Representing a broad diversity of interests, the Council serves as a leader, convener and champion.
